Complete General Dentistry Course

Overview

The Complete General Dentistry workshop is a clinical program for Indian dentists designed to provide intensive clinical exposure for 6 months in the broad realm of various subjects with more detailed knowledge and vast clinical experience.

It is for those who are seeking to learn more advanced procedures and techniques.

The program is a unique opportunity for those who seek additional clinical experience to supplement what has already been taught through formal dental education. The objective of the program is to take dentists to the next level in patient care and teaching skills while instilling a disciplined and professional attitude.

This programme will ensure that you are fully equipped to offer the highest standards of clinical dentistry to your dental patients. Successful completion of the Complete General Dentistry Workshop will enable you to demonstrate true commitment to your patients' safety and best interests. CGDW will give you an opportunity to broaden your services in a way to suit you and your clinical practice.

• Duration: 6 MONTHS
• Eligibility: BDS / MDS / any equivalent qualification recognised by Dental Council of India
• Number of Fellows: The program admits 10 Fellows in a batch

• Any State Dental Council Permanent registration certificate is mandatory to join any Mastership or Fellowship program at ACDE.

Prosthodontics

Hands on

• Manipulation of various dental materials used.
• All procedures need to be performed on extracted teeth and models.
• Three Designs of Veneer Preparation and Conventional Impressions making.
• Provisional Restorations.
• Preparation of table top restoration on models.
• Impressions & Gingival Retraction.
• Single implant impression from models.

Clinicals

• Flexible Removable Partial Dentures.
• Brief overview and basics about Precision attachment and cast partial denture.
• Minimum 20 Crown Preparations (Anteriors + Posteriors).
• Bonded restorations i.e., Table top restoration and veneers on models.
• Basics of single implant impression with open tray and close tray technique.

Endodontics

Hands on

• All procedures need to be performed on extracted teeth and models.
• Composite fillings and anterior layering on extracted teeth.
• Access opening.
• Biomechanical preparation (Manual & Rotary).
• Obturation.
• Use of different rotary file systems.
• Post space preparation for post placement.
• Rubber dam placement.

Clinicals

• Minimum 20 composite and GIC fillings.
• Minimum 20 Root Canal Treatments (Anteriors + Posteriors).
• Post and core - Fiber post.
• Few Re-RCT Cases.
• Usage of various file systems on patients.
• Rubber dam placement in patients before starting procedures.

Oral Surgery

Hands on

• Suturing Techniques on chicken legs.
• Incision and Flap design for 3rd molar extraction.
• Principles of exodontia.

Clinicals

• Basics of various nerve blocks and infiltration.
• Basics of preprosthetic minor surgeries: Alveoloplasty.
• Extractions.
• Surgical extractions / Disimpactions.
• Suturing techniques.
• Incision and Drainage.

Pedodontics

Hands on

• Fabrication of space maintainers on models.

Clinicals

• Deciduous teeth extractions.
• Pulpectomy.
• Space maintainers.
• Pediatric conservative dentistry.
• Observation of conscious sedation.

Periodontics

Hands on

• Crown lengthening with osteoctomy on models.

Clinicals

• Crown Lengthening with cautery.
• Observation of Depigmentation and Frenectomy with cautery.
• Various flap design.
• Splinting.
• Overview about grafts and grafting procedures.
• Demonstration of Flap surgery.

Orthodontics

• Brief overview of Basics, Diagnosis and Treatment planning of orthodontic treatment.
• Basics of aligners.

Oral Medicine and Radiology

• Basics and introduction to various diagnostic aids used in our clinical practice.
• Learning of CBCT.

Implants

Hands on

• Implant placement on Styrofoam Jaws.
• Implant Placement in Aesthetic Zone.

Implant Surgical Placements

• Simple / Straight forward cases.

Cosmetic Dentistry

• Introduction to bleaching procedures and smile designing.
• Tooth Jewels (Participant can convince their patients for tooth jewels, ACDE will provide the Tooth Jewel).

Dental Photography and Clinic Management Skills

Additional training in dental photography techniques and clinic management skills to enhance professional practice.
